The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and the City Government of Bacolod will jointly host this year’s Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) National Convention slated October 2-4 with the theme, “Tourism and Development in the Community”.
Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. welcomed Canadian Cultural Planning Expert, Jeffrey Evenson at the Capitol, yesterday, who will be assisting the Negros Occidental tourism stakeholders in conducting a weeklong cultural mapping of cultural assets for tourism.
The Municipality of La Castellana led by Mayor Alberto Nicor, Jr. and Vice Mayor Felix Feria IV together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Fifth District Board Member Alain Gatuslao and Executive Assistant Angel Verdeflor officially opened its gallery at the Municipal Hall, yesterday in line with the celebration of the Municipal Tourism Week.
Regional Director Atty. Helen J. Catalbas of the Department of Tourism turned over checks worth P2.2 million to the cities of Escalante, Sagay, La Carlota and Sipalay, and the towns of Hinobaan, Pulupandan and San Enrique, intended for tourism projects at O Hotel in Bacolod City, yesterday.
