The Municipality of La Castellana led by Mayor Alberto Nicor, Jr. and Vice Mayor Felix Feria IV together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Fifth District Board Member Alain Gatuslao and Executive Assistant Angel Verdeflor officially opened its gallery at the Municipal Hall, yesterday in line with the celebration of the Municipal Tourism Week.
The gallery houses the painted portraits of the past 24 mayors since 1918 and stands as a tribute to the founding fathers and officials of the town who dedicated their service for the town’s achievement.
Mayor Nicor thanked all the families of the past mayors who unveiled the portraits and received the plaque of appreciation from the municipal government.
He also mentioned that in 2018, the town will be commemorating its centennial celebration and urged the people to continue helping one another for the town’s progress.
Board Member Gatuslao said that the celebration is fitting as it brings together the past, the present and the future leaders of La Castellana.
Meanwhile Angel Verdeflor who represented Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. said that the event is one way of giving recognition to the leaders of the town who in one way or another led to its development.
The portraits were painted by artists Noel Itabag, DJ San Miguel and Robert De Aro.
The gallery is also open to the public. */Capitol News
